This is space. It's sometimes called the final frontier.(Except that of course you can't have a final frontier, because there'd be nothing for it to be a frontier to, but as frontier go, it's pretty penultimate...)

The Discworld is as unreal as it is possible to be while still being just real enuff to exist.

There's a saying that there is a saying that all roads lead to Ankh-Morpork. And it's wrong. All roads lead away from Ankh-Morpork, but sometimes people just walk along them the wrong way.

The universe contains any amount of horrible ways to be woken up, such as the noise of the mob breaking down the front door, the scream of fire engines, or the realization that today is the Monday which on Friday night was a comfortably way off.

Death is missing - presumed.....er....gone.Which leads to the kind of chaos you always get when an important public service is withdrawn. Meanwhile, on a little farm, far, far away, a tall dark stranger is turning out to be really good with the scythe. There's a harvest to be gathered in....

Florence syndrome (or Stendhal's syndrome) is a psychosomatic illness that causes rapid heartbeat, dizziness, confusion and even hallucinations when an individual is exposed to art, usually when the art is particularly 'beautiful' or a large amount of art is in a single place. It is named after the famous 19th century French author Stendhal, who described his experience with phenomenon his 1817 visit to Florence, Italy in his book Naples and Florence: a Journey from Milan to Reggio.

In these past few weeks we have heard a lot about the "real economy" (the production and circulation of goods) and the – how should we call it? unreal? – economy which is the source of all evils, in that its agents had become "irresponsible", "irrational" and "predatory" – fuelling, first rapaciously, then in a panic, the now formless mass of stocks, securities and currencies. The return to the real cannot be a movement leading from bad "irrational" speculation back to healthy production. It is the return to the immediate and reflective life of all those who inhabit this world. It is from that vantage-point that one can observe capitalism without flinching, including the disaster movie that it is currently inflicting upon us. The real is not this movie, but its audience.

The western coastal areas of Aceh were among the areas hardest-hit by the tsunami resulting from the Indian Ocean earthquake on December 26, 2004. While estimates vary, approximately 230,000 people were killed by the earthquake and tsunami in Aceh, and about 500,000 were left homeless.(source Wikipedia.org).

Every family in the city of Banda Aceh lost at least one member, everyone of the survivors lost someone loved in 26 of December 2004 and the people in this serie of portraits are no exception...

Some families can not be reunited but some can and should be...

Cambodia - People of the Lake

The Tonle Sap lake is the biggest lake in SE Asia and home for few comunities which are living in suspended/floating villages.

Houses are built on stils and people are using boats for their dailly business.

Children are learning how to handle a boat in the same time they learn how to walk.

The goods people need are all coming on the wather including a boat - shop selling everything from chewing gum to rice and rope.

In the last year the village became sort of a touristic atraction. Boats like this are bringing tourists to see the wonder.

The walls of the houses are built out of knited young branches harvested in the nearby floaded forest.

Tonlé Sap is one of the most productive inland fisheries in the world, supporting over 3 million people and providing over 75% of Cambodia's annual inland fish catch and 60% of the Cambodians' protein intake(Source Wikipedia).The main ocupation of the lake people is obviously fishery.

Children which are lucky enough to get an education are brought to the floating school by boat.

So if you go there and have enough of the magnificent Ankgor Wat temples, visit the people of the lake .
